Massimo Moratti has dismissed suggestions that Inter could challenge for the Serie A title.
Andrea Stramaccioni's side have begun the campaign in impressive fashion, with Sunday's 2-0 victory over Catania leaving the Nerazzurri in fourth spot on 18 points - just four adrift of the Juventus..
"I like this spirit, our aim is not to win Serie A, but making the best of the season we possibly can,” he told reporters.
"I am happy because we are playing well. I think that Stramaccioni is a good head coach and he is doing a fine job."
Injured midfielder Wesley Sneijder has been forced to watch on from the sidelines as his side have hit a fine run of form, but Moratti believes he will walk straight back into the team upon his return.
"In this team there is space for a champion like him. I am sure that he will find his position in Stramaccioni's squad," he added.
