Atletico Madrid have stated that they would
not stand in Radamel Falcao's way, if the
striker decides to leave the club this
summer.
The Colombian has been strongly linked
with Ligue 2 winners, Monaco and Chelsea
in the past few months, after another
impressive season with the Spanish side, in
which he scored 34 goals in all
competitions...
It is also understood
that Falcao has a
£54million buy-out clause in his contract
and the club's general manager Miguel
Angel Gil Marin said: 'Before the start of the
season we talked with [Falcao] and we
promised him if he keeps the same
performance and he helps us to arrive to
the Uefa Champions League next season,
Atletico will help you.
"Every decision he will take, Atletico will be
with him."
Marin was also bullish about finding the
right replacement for the red-hot frontman,
pointing out that the club has been able to
find good strikers in the market.
"Atletico knows how to change the good
striker – Fernando Torres, [Diego] Forlan,
[Sergio] Aguero, now Falcao," he added.
"I don't know exactly which will be the
next one, but you can be sure Atletico will
have a strong team next season."
The 27-year-old arrived from Porto two
seasons ago for £35million.
