Paris St Germain coach, Carlo
Ancelotti, has asked to leave for
Madrid but the club president
Nasser Al-Khelaifi says the
Italian-born coach must respect
his contract with the French club.....
Ancelotti told the club he wants to
leave at the end of the season
after leading the team to their first
French league title in 19 years.
Al-khelaifi said he had a meeting
with Ancelotti on his request to
leave PSG and go ahead to coach
Spanish side Real Madrid but he
was very clear with Ancelotti on
the move by reminding him that
he still has a year to go in his
contract with PSG.
Al-khelaifi said it is not the
problem of the French club but the
problem of Ancelotti if he goes
against the agreed contract and
heads to Real Madrid because
contracts have to be respected.
He adds that PSG wants to keep
him and there's a proposition to
further extend his contract for
another year, but if he still wants
to leave after the remaining one
year then he can leave.
"It's his problem, it is not our
problem because it is in his
contract and everyone has to
respect contracts. We want to
keep him and we also proposed to
renew the contract for another
year, but he can leave."
Ancelotti joined PSG, who are
owned by Qatar Sports
Investments (QSI), in December
2011, leading them to their first
French league title since 1994 last
weekend.
The 53-year-old won league titles
with PSG, AC Milan and Chelsea, and
also took the Italian club to the
Champions League title in 2003
and 2007.
His contract at PSG was
automatically renewed by one
year until June next year when
the club secured a Champions
League spot for next season.
