Big Blow For Manchester United As Van Persie Misses Eight Matches Due To Long Term Injury

Van Persie to miss eight United matches with injury

Manchester United striker, Robin van Persie, will miss a month of action and up to eight matches, after he suffered a thigh strain....

Red Devils boss David Moyes, explained that the Dutchman sustained the injury, after taking the corner that led to Phil Jones’ winner against Shakhtar Donetsk on Tuesday night, in the Champions League.

Van Persie only made his return from a groin problem in the game against Newcastle and will now miss an important run of matches for the champions.

“Robin has picked up a thigh strain and will be out for a month,” Moyes told reporters. “He took the corner we scored the goal from against Shakhtar and felt his thigh.
“So we’re going to lose Robin, it looks like, for a month, with a thigh strain.”
The English champions play Aston Villa at Villa Park on Sunday.
