Benoit Assou-Ekotto is close to a first-team return after resuming full training with Tottenham..
The Cameroon international has missed more than three months with a knee injury, his last appearance coming in the 1-1 draw against Norwich in the Premier League on September 1. Assou-Ekotto was originally expected to miss just four weeks of action.
He gave hope of his imminent return to the Spurs fold, tweeting: "Training with the team today !!! I hope as i ll remember the name of every one LOL."
In his absence Tottenham have primarily employed Jan Vertonghen at left-back, but manager Andre Villas-Boas is sure to welcome the return of Assou-Ekotto, which will give him the option of moving Vertonghen back to centre-half.
Tottenham face Swansea in the Premier league on Sunday looking to bounce back from the 2-1 defeat against Everton that ended a run of four consecutive wins.
