FabregasBarcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas, has finally confirmed his desire to remain at the club and insisted that he never considered leaving....
The 26-year-old, who was speaking from Kuala Lumpur where the Catalan club are continuing their pre-season Asian tour, dismissed the possibility of a transfer to Manchester United or anywhere else this summer.
"My dream is to play here, I have never considered leaving," he told Mundo Deportivo. "I am at the best club."
The former Arsenal skipper, also went on to suggest that stories about him agreeing terms with United were pure fabrications and that he had met with Tito Vilanova, Andoni Zubizarreta, Tata Martino and Josep Maria Bartomeu, who all gave him assurances about his future.
"Things were invented," he said. "I do not understand how after Tito, Zubi, Tata and Bartomeu all said they counted on me.
I have not spoken with any other club for two summers now.
"I have messages from Bartomeu and from the president [Sandro Rosell]," Fabregas said.
"I have spoken face-to-face with them and have not had any problem. And neither is it true that I have asked for a new contract."
Fabregas' silence has been a source of worry and speculations have arisen, but the Spain international stated that he did not see the need to speak out.
"I have always been relaxed," he added. "I did not have to clear up anything because in my head I was only going to stay at Barca."
