Nigeria will have the honour of representing the African continent at the Confederations Cup,by virtue of winning the 2013 African Nations Cup in South Africa.
Mikel hopes that he would add to his medal haul,by winning the tournament with Nigeria,to augment the two titles he has already won this year : Nations Cup and the Europa League with Chelsea.
“It will be great to win the Confederations Cup and add to my medals collection,” Mikel said on Brila FM.
“It will be another history for Nigeria and Africa,” the midfielder added.
Nigeria will next week Wednesday play a World Cup qualifier against Namibia,before departing Windhoek for South Africa,where they will connect a flight to Sao Paulo,Brazil.
The Super Eagles are in group B of the FIFA Confederations Cup,and will come up against World and European champions Spain,South Americans,Uruguay and the Oceanian country,Tahiti.
