According to reports in Spanish Newspaper ASm the welsh winger is the number one priority of Real Madrid President Florentino Perez, but the move could be derailed by the extortionate demands of Spurs chairman Daniel Levy.
Madrid are Understood to be unwilling to meet the 120Million Euro asking price - 103.5M Euro in British Pound sterling but are preparing an alternative offer of 86Million Euro plus Argentine Winger Angel Di Maria in Exchange.
AS claim that Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas is a huge fan of Di Maria's qualities, with the Portugese boss identifying the wide-man as the ideal replacement for Bale, while Di Maria himself is understood to have been Unsettled by Madrid's public pursuit for a player that would take his Position in the Real team.
Although Madrid would look to haggle for a better deal, they are wary of the notoriously stubborn nature of Levey in the Transfer Market and are convinced that any move for Bale would force the club to Smash the 80Million Euro they paid to prise Cristiano Ronaldo from Manchester United in 2009.
