Petr Cech believes Chelsea are in a good position to become the first side ever to retain the Champions League title.
Cech celebrates with the Champions League trophy after success in Munich
Cech, 30, whose penalty saves helped Chelsea to their first Champions League win last season, sees the success as the moment that the Blues joined the footballing elite.
With several big money signings coming through the door, the goalkeeper hopes they can repeat their success next next May and make history..
"That was the moment Chelsea joined the best in the world," Cech told BBC Sport. "We know we can challenge anyone this season and we must try to become the first team to win the Champions League for the second season running."
"We have won pretty much everything as a club and this was the last trophy we were missing in the cabinet. We have put it in there now and it is a huge step forward for the whole club."
"It [retaining the Champions League] is a massive challenge, no-one has ever done it and we will try to be the first. We have had some very good signings come into the club. Everyone wants to join Chelsea and be part of this club again."
Cech recently signed a new four-year deal at Stamford Bridge which will keep him at the club until the summer of 2016.
