West Ham United have confirmed to ESPN
that they are interested in signing
Liverpool striker Andy Carroll on a season-
long loan.

Carroll, 23, signed for Liverpool from
Newcastle for £35 million in 2011 but
struggled after the move, scoring just six
Premier League goals in 42 appearances.
His form did, however, improve towards
the end of last season and he was on target
for England with a fine header against
Sweden at Euro 2012.
Recent reports have suggested that the
Reds are open to letting Carroll leave this
summer, with new manager Brendan
Rodgers coy over whether the forward's
future lies at Anfield.
Serie A side AC Milan have been mooted as
potential candidates for his signature,
although an approach has yet to be
confirmed..
The Hammers, though, are to lodge an offer
of a season-long loan, and a source told
ESPN: "West Ham are rating their chances of
getting Carroll on loan as low as 10%, but
you never know."
It is unclear whether Carroll is in Rodgers'
plans, particularly after Liverpool were
strongly linked with a move for Roma
forward Fabio Borini.
