Former Borussia Dortmund striker Mohamed Zidan has agreed to a two-year deal with UAE outfit Bani Yas, according to Egyptian reports.
The 30-year-old Egypt international is currently a free agent after his deal with Dortmund expired and he opted not to remain with Mainz after a six-month loan spell where he scored seven goals in 12 appearances.
According to Egyptian media, Zidan has now reached an agreement with Bani Yas, who had signed David Trezeguet last season to spearhead their attack before failing to fire..
Abu Dhabi-based Bani Yas finished the 2011-12 campaign down in ninth, having been runners-up the season prior.
Zidan, who had spent the past seven years in Germany after joining Werder Bremen from Danish club Midtjylland in 2005, had been chased by fellow UAE club Ajman last month.
