AC Milan plans exchanging Cassano for Borriello with Roma - report

AC Milan could be prepared to allow Antonio Cassano leave for Roma in return for Marco Borriello, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Italian giants have been on the lookout for a new striker since selling Zlatan Ibrahimovic to Paris Saint-Germain last month and Borriello is considered to be an option..
The 30-year-old hitman spent two and a half seasons at the San Siro before being initially loaned and then sold on a permanent basis to the Giallorossi in 2011.
However, he is now considered surplus to requirements at Trigoria and a move back to Milan is on the cards.
Meanwhile, Cassano has been linked with a departure from the Rossoneri, with Sampdoria touted as a possible destination for the Italy international.
Roma's sporting director, Walter Sabatini, did little to quell the speculation when admitting on Tuesday that he "received a phone call about Cassano yes".
“But I would not call it an offer from Milan. A small draft in the market, yes, probably from a third party. Our priority is a central defender.
"But an exchange involving Milan and Borriello seems unlikely," he concluded.
