Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku is close to sealing a loan move to an unnamed Premier League outfit, but it will not be Fulham, according to the player’s agent..
The powerful Belgian struggled for first-team opportunities during his debut season at Stamford Bridge, failing to score in 12 appearances and starting just once in the league.
And Lukaku’s agent Christophe Henrotay has dismissed the possibility of the striker joining Fulham on loan, but has confirmed he will link up a different Premier League side – though did not disclose the club’s identity.
"I can assure you that Romelu is not going to Fulham," Henrotay told reporters. "I am currently finalising the details with another Premier League club.
"Romelu will go on loan. I cannot say which team he will join, or when it will happen, but things are progressing."
Along with Fulham, Stoke were believed to be interested in the Belgian last summer, with Sunderland also reported as being keen earlier in the current transfer window.
Lukaku has also quashed speculation linking him with a loan move to German side Werder Bremen, stating that he wants to gain experience of English football at another top-flight club.
