Vincenzo Montella remains hopeful that Stevan Jovetic will remain at Fiorentina after reports in Italy suggested the club had turned down an offer from Manchester City for the forward.
According to the La Nazione, City sent scouts to Florence on Saturday to see Jovetic captain the Viola to a 2-0 Coppa Italia win against Novara..
Jovetic, 22, has been linked heavily with Juventus throughout the summer and earlier this month president Andrea Della Valle revealed the club had "turned down an offer" of €25 million for Jovetic which was believed to be from the Bianconeri.
La Nazione further claims City made an offer following Saturday's game but that it was rejected immediately.
Speaking after the victory, Fiorentina manager Montella told reporters: "I think he'd be disappointed if he left, because we are building an important team here.
"We're giving him a team for his characteristics. This is a side with quality and I am certain that Jovetic strongly wants to stay."
